Jellyfish, Truths to Remember, and Noticing the Good

Something True, Good, Beautiful 7/13/17

Something Beautiful:

The image above is from the Moody Gardens Aquarium we visited yesterday. It is a hypnotic experience watching the “jellies” float around (they are not fish, they point out). There was a touch tank, but we arrived when they were being fed and were not able to touch them at that time. I would not have anyway–I can’t eat or touch sea creatures–ick! But, how beautiful God’s creation is!

Something True:

Here is a link to a short article with 5 truths about life that would be good to write down and post on your refrigerator or mirror or bathroom wall–somewhere you will read them every day and remember to put things in proper perspective: Msgr. Pope’s 5 Hard Truths

Something Good:

Well, I was hoping to do this True, Good, and Beautiful round-up post each week for your benefit as well as mine–to force myself to stop and appreciate things that are pointing to God. As the scripture says: “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Phillipians 4:8) It looks like I need to do a better job of noticing (and figuring how to post) things that are good. But, hey, this scripture is good. And noticing that I need to notice more good things is good.

What have you seen lately that lifts your heart to God?
